Increased use of telehealth means that health care organizations and practitioners need to develop guidelines for monitoring telehealth practitioners such as nurse practitioners and sharing internal review information such as peer review. Federal law requires that, at a minimum, this shared information must include adverse events that result from a practitioner’s telemedicine services and complaints a health care organization receives about a practitioner.
