I feel very strongly about the treatment of addiction. I do not feel that anyone wakes up and states "I won't to be an addict today." I do however feel there are addicts that wake up and feel mentally, "I don't feel good, I am anxious, how do I get more of the substance so I can feel better? Addiction is real and I would not wish it on my worst enemy. I am grateful for this 8 part series that will be presented by NAADAC. When you complete the 8 part series and pass the CE online quizzes you can get a certificate in Digital Therapeutics. I think this training is a wonderful supplement to anyone's training in substance abuse treatment. I just registered for my Part I training and look forward to the certificate.

Description
There are effective treatments for substance use disorders (SUDs), though they do not work for all patients and efficacy decreases over the long-term. Thus, there is an urgent need for new therapeutic options. This workshop will highlight research to support the development of safe and effective digital therapeutics (DTx), discuss strategies to accelerate their delivery to patients, and improve SUD treatment outcomes. DTx, a subset of digital health, consists of high-quality software programs to prevent, manage, or treat medical conditions. DTx that meet the definition of a medical device go through an FDA regulatory review process to be legally marketed in the US. The ultimate goal of this workshop is to illuminate NIH-supported and FDA-authorized DTx options for patients with SUDs.
